INDUSTRY, INNOVATION AND INFRASTUCTURE

Galgotias University has set up an Innovation cell to inculcate the spirit of Innovation & Entrepreneurship among students & faculty members and add value to national innovation initiatives of Govt. of India including ARIIA, IIC, KAPILA, NISP, YUKTI and Hackathons.

The university established the Institution's Innovation Cell (IIC) under MoE's Innovation Cell in 2018-2019. The University received 4 Star Rating (Highest Star Rating) by Ministry of Education Innovation Cell (MIC) in the AY 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-2023 for promoting Innovation and Start-up on Campus by organising IIC-Calendar Activities, MIC-Driven Activities, IIC-Celebration Activities and Self-Driven Activities.

To date IIC, GU organized over 250 events on Entrepreneurship, Innovation and IPR in collaboration with various departments and schools. The IIC, Galgotias University is proud to be included as one amongst sixteen Governing members of the IIC Consortium, Uttar Pradesh, and selected as Mentor Institute with Funding Support by the Ministry of Education Innovation Cell, GoI in 2023. 30 plus faculties have completed the Innovation Ambassador Training offered by the Ministry of Education & AICTE and providing support and mentoring to students to transform their ideas into startups.

The University was recognised in the band “Excellent” in 2021 and ranked among the top 50 universities in India in the NIRF-Innovation Ranking 2023, declared by the Ministry of Education.The University also ranked among the Top 5 Patent Filled in PAN India.

Apart from the IIC, Galgotias University has Actively Participated in KAPILA Adopted the National Innovation and Startup Policy (NISP), and Developed the YUKTI Portal for the submission of Ideas/Innovation and Startups from students and faculty members. To date, 2000+ Ideas & Innovations have been submitted on YUKTI Portal. The University has a dedicated IPR Cell that supports free IPR filing by students and faculty members. •

The University has established a student-driven E-Cell & Innovation Cell that consists of more than 250 student members. The University also has an Incubation Centre "Galgotias Incubation Centre for Research Innovation Start-up and Entrepreneurship (GICRISE)" as an independent Section 8 Company that is registered on the StartinIndia & StartinUP Portal. Currently GICRISE Incubation Centre has 100+ startups that are under the pre-incubation and incubation stages.
